# Create an AWS account alias

These instructions are for how to create an AWS account alias if you signed up for AWS using Sign up for AWS (advanced) or if you activated advanced features for your account. To compare sign-up options, see [Compare sign-up options](sign-up-for-aws.md).

If you want the URL for your IAM users to contain your company name (or another easy-to-remember identifier) instead of the AWS account ID, you can create an *account alias*.
